Things To Do
Piper Street in Kyneton is a standout. It is a vibrant retail street that holds its own against big city shopping strips. The many independent retailers of Piper Street reflect the owners’s eclectic tastes and DIY ethic. Piper Street shops mix modern style with old world classicism and a funky vibe. Original wooden lintels meet hip window displays and understated signs; restored spaces meet cool and spare, or warm and eclectic, interiors.
Henry, Harriet and (little) Albert Churchill are the recent stewards of Zig Zag Rd Winery located on Dja Dja Wurrung Country in Malmsbury. Since taking the reigns, they have been on an incredible journey working with some of Macedon Ranges very best winemakers and biodynamic viticulturists to make wine and grow grapes in a way that is in relationship with the land and involves minimal intervention in the winery.
Paramoor Winery was established in 2005 by Will Fraser, and is one of the most popular and awarded wineries in the Macedon Ranges. A boutique operation, Paramoor Winery is not about mass production. Quality always comes before quantity – and there is quality in everything the winery does. From the meticulous selection of grapes for Paramoor’s wine to the personalised service in the cellar door; every detail is considered… and the results speak for themselves.
Kyneton Ridge Estate Winery was established in the 1990’s by the Boucher and Russell families, after a long search to find the perfect property. The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay blocks were planted in 1997, and the fruit harvested from these vineyards is used to make our signature wines. Fruit is also sourced from our trusted growers to make Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Estate was purchased by the Wood family, and will continue to be a family run winery, along with the Ridge Café.
Lauriston Reservoir is a deep, domestic water storage on the Coliban River, surrounded by forest and farmland. Fishing is the most popular activity at Lauriston Reservoir, although many people visit simply to enjoy the beauty of the natural surroundings. The reservoir is perfect for photography and landscape painting, and is popular with birdwatchers.
The Hunter-Gatherer vineyard sits on the rolling hills of Pipers Creek in Victoria's Macedon Ranges. Our wine is made with the intent to allow terroir and the character of each varietal speak for themselves; And once it's all said and done we love nothing more than inviting guests and visitors to share the spoils of this beautiful and unique region!
